Spa Supplies

To keep your spa functioning in the best shape possible there are some spa supplies that you will need to purchase.  These supplies will help your hot tub run better and keep it cleaner making it overall easier to take care of your hot tub.  Caring for your spa can be very simple as long as you do it correctly. Applying the needed chemicals can be harmful in too large of doses so make sure you know what you are doing.  We suggest reading in your manual exactly what your spa requires to maintain good condition.  Your manual will tell you the right chemicals and cleaning products that are to be used for your specific spa.  Of course these things cost money and can get quite pricey but it will prevent problems that are equally expensive.  Taking proper care of your spa from the get go will save you money in the long run as well as ensure you always have a place to kick back and relax.

There are many different chemicals that you need to purchase with your spa supplies.  Each one has a different purpose and there is not one chemical that will do all the work.  Many spa owners have 4-5 different types of chemicals that they put in their spas regularly to ensure it functions properly.  There are many types of chemicals that are meant to balance the pH in your spa.  PH is extremely important when it comes to the water in your spa.  Because the water is being reused and chemicals are repeatedly being added the water often become imbalanced with other chemicals.  Demineralizers are chemicals that are added to the water of your spa to break down minerals that may be present.  Often times the water you place from you tap into your spa contains many minerals that can build up in the filter and the pipes of your hot tub.  Demineralizers are important to prevent such build up.  Cleaning chemicals are also a must have for your spa.  It is practically impossible to drain and disassemble your spa for regular cleaning.  A cleaning chemical will flow through the hot tub and clean as it does so.  Cleaning chemicals should be present in your spa constantly however in large amounts they will damage your skin and clothes so be careful.

Outer cleaning products are also extremely important spa supplies.  IF you do not regularly clean the shell of your spa not only will it look bad it can actually deter its performance.  Build up of dirt and grime on the exterior of your spa is easily tracked into the water of your spa when people enter it.  This grime can cause extreme problems with the flow of your tub.  No one wants to get into a spa that looks disgusting, regardless of how clean the water within it.  To keep your spa looking brand new you can purchase many supplies.  For a spa with a wooden exterior  it is wise to seal the wood soon after purchase.  Many people assume the wood on their spa has been sealed but often times it has not.  Sealing your wood will make it easier to clean and make it look nicer.  After you seal your wood you will be able to clean it with wax.  With a plastic or vinyl shelled spa you can purchase wax and grime buster cleaners to clean your spa with.

The last thing you will need to purchase with your spa supplies is a spa cover. This will prevent things from being dropped or blown into your spa when you are not using it. Covers will keep the water in your spa cleaner and prevent large items like leaves or bugs from being sucked through your filter.
